چکیده

Introduction Long-term delayed complete atrioventricular block (CAVB) is a serious complication of ventricular septal defect (VSD) closure treatment. Thus, cardiac surgeons have made significant efforts to explore its causes and reduce incidence. In recent years, minimally invasive transthoracic (MITC) VSD has been used widely successfully in China as it easy repeat, ensures individualized closure, can be debugged repeatedly. Theoretically, the possibility recurrence CAVB lower than that with transcatheter closure. Although incidence after MITC inevitable, long-term rarely reported. Case description Herein, we report case occurred 2 years 5 months performing perimembranous VSD. The rhythm recovered occluder was removed surgically. Conclusion findings our emphasize since may occur long term VSD, safety should reassessed, indications for strictly followed, follow-up, including lifelong recommended patients postoperatively. addition, surgically restore normal heart rhythm.

Lung herniation after minimally invasive atrial-septal-defect closure.

A 50-year old patient presented with chronic tussive irritation and chest pain after minimally invasive atrial septal defect (ASD) repair. In the computed tomography (CT) scan, the lung was found to have herniated (Fig. 1a and b). The defect in the chest wall was repaired surgically (Fig. 2). Lung herniation is a rare complication observed more frequently with the advent of minimally invasive c...

Pneumopericardium after Minimally Invasive Atrial Septal Defect Closure

Minimally invasive atrial septal defect (ASD) closure is a commonly performed cardiac surgical procedure and has good outcome. We report an interesting chest X-ray showing pneumopericardium in a patient who underwent ASD closure using a minimally invasive approach.

Transthoracic echocardiographic guidance of minimally invasive perventricular device closure of perimembranous ventricular septal defect without cardiopulmonary bypass: initial experience.

BACKGROUND Our purpose was to investigate the feasibility of transthoracic echocardiographic (TTE) guidance for minimally invasive periventricular device closure of perimembranous ventricular septal defects (VSDs). METHODS From June 2011 to September 2011, we enrolled 18 young children with perimembranous VSDs to receive minimally invasive device closure in our hospital. All of the patients w...

Applications of transesophageal echocardiography in treating ventricular septal defect with aortic valve prolapse by transthoracic minimally invasive closure

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the application methods and values of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) in treating ventricular septal defect with aortic valve prolapse (VSD-AVP) by transthoracic minimally invasive closure (TMIC). Methods: A total of 34 pediatric patients with congenital heart disease plus VSDAVP were applied TMIC. TEE was applied intraoperatively to ob...

Late complete atrioventricular block after closure of an atrial septal defect with a gore septal occluder (GSO™)

Temporary intermittent complete heart block (CHB) occurred the day after interventional closure of an ASD with a 30 mm Gore Septal Occluder (GSO™) in a 2 years and 11-month-old female. CHB disappeared without further treatment and stable sinus rhythm recovered within 3 days. Only short episodes of 2nd degree AV-block (Wenckebach periodicity) at rare intervals were documented in Holter-monitors ...
